Scouts Canada, the country’s leading youth organization, offers challenging programs for boys, girls and youth age 5-26 in thousands of individual groups in most cities and towns across Canada.
Scout Craft II
Voyageur Council will be conducting Scout Craft II training at Apple Hill Scout Reserve on the weekend of April 28 – 30 April 2017.
ScoutCraft II builds on the skills and knowledge obtained in Scout Craft I (or other Outdoor Skills training such as Winter outdoor Skills) to enable Scouters to safely take youth on overnight camping adventures. This is achieved in the field as a two-day, overnight program.
The training will start Friday night at 1900 hrs (7 PM) and be completed by noon Sunday. There will be pre-camp assignments to facilitate learning.
Cost will be $30 covering cost of the camp and related training supplies. Participants will be responsible for their own food, water and accommodations (participants will be sleeping outdoors both Friday and Saturday nights.
Prerequisites: Minimum 16 years old and having taken Scout Craft I (or other Outdoor Skills training such as Winter outdoor Skills).
1. Scouters and senior Youth with extensive outdoors experience but lacking formal Outdoor Skills training may be allowed to attend at the discretion of the Course Leader – such interested participants are to contact Scouter Steve at DiveBuddy@rogers.com to be assessed before being allowed to register for Scout Craft II.
2. Youth under the age of 18 are to ensure a second Scouter is included in any email correspondence with Scouter Steve to respect the Two Scouter Rule).
